Celebrate Malaysia’s Wonderful Festivals and Fair’s

Three festivals that are major tourist attractions in Malaysia are the 1Malaysian Contemporary Art and Tourism Festival, the Food and Fruits Fiesta and the Malaysian Craft Fair. Each of these events demonstrates the diversity and innovative of the Malaysian people.

Arts Festival

One of the most interesting places to visit in Malaysia is Kuala Lumpur, it is the capital city of Malaysia and its cultural and tourism center. It is also the home of the 1Malysian Contemporary Art and Tourism Festival. The initial year of the festival was 2010, and it has gotten bigger and better every year since then. As a result of the festivals rapid growth, events are now held in shopping centers, hotels, pavilions and art galleries throughout the city.

The festival runs from July through September. The intent of its planners is to showcase and promote the works of Malaysian and Southeast Asian artists to the international community. The art exhibits include a wide array of paintings and sculptures that represent Malaysia’s diverse ethnic and religious backgrounds. There will be thousands of beautiful works of arts, many of which will be for sale.

Each year the festival is managed by the Malaysian Ministry of Tourism. One of the ministries goals was to support and develop young artist to ensure the future of Malaysia’s art culture. In order to help reach their goal Malaysia’s top young artist are encouraged to compete in events such as the “Futurist” competition which will feature hundreds of works of art and pay prize money to the best artist. There will also be exhibits that showcase the works of some of the regions older and more seasoned artist.

The 1Malaysia Art and Tourism Festival is just one of a number of Malaysian art festivals. There are other very notable festivals such as the Art Malaysia Tourism Fair in Kuala Lumpur in August. There is also the Malaysian International Performing Arts Festival which is held in Kuala Lumpur in November, and which presents stage shows that feature traditional Malaysian dancing, singing and plays.

Malaysia Food & Fruit Festival

Malaysian’s are generally outgoing friendly people who like festivals and celebrations. That explains why there are so many different kinds of festivals, one of them are the Malaysian Food and Fruit festivals. These festivals celebrate the plethora of foods and fruits that Malaysian farmers can produce. Various cities and states in Malaysia have food and fruit festivals. One of the most interesting places in Malaysia is at the food and fruit festival that is held in Kuala Lumpur. Festival participants have stalls where they present delicious tropical fruits such as the unique Durian fruit or honeydew melons, pineapples, rose apples or bananas. While the festival focuses on fruit, people cannot live on fruit alone, and there are lots of other kinds of Asian cuisines that are available. One of the reasons for these festivals is to attract tourist, and the local participants make sure that the festivals live up to the high expectations of both the tourist and the local population

Malaysia Craft Festival

For those that are looking for interesting things to do in Malaysia, attending the Malaysian National Craft Festival should be high on the list. The festival which is held in Kuala Lumpur is a major event where close to five hundred Malaysian entrepreneurs display and sale a wide range of arts and craft items. The craft items include furniture, pottery, hand crafted fabrics, clothing, various kinds of jewelry and more. Malaysia is a diverse country, and the craft items demonstrate the diversity and complexity of the Malaysian people.

In addition to the craftsmen displays, there are lots of activities such as interactive workshops and guided tours where visitors can see and learn how craft items are designed and made. The fair will also feature stage shows by some of Malaysia’s finest cultural performers. All in all, the Malaysian Craft Festival is a fun and enlightening cultural event.
